PRİCE, Richard (Noun)

(1723-1791) İngiliz ahlak felsefecisi ve maliyecisi. William Pitt, David Hume gibi ünlülerin yakın çevresinde bulunmuştur. Olasılık üzerine eseriyle 1765de Royal Rocietye kabul edilmiºtir. Bu eseri hayat sigortasi ve yaşlılık ödeneğiyle ilgili İntikal Ödemeleri Üzerine Gözlemler (Observations on Revesionary Payments) (1771) adlı kitabının temelini oluşturmuştur. Bu kitap Ulusal Borçlar Konusunda Kamouyuna Çağrı (An Appeal to the Public of the Subject of the National Debt) (1772) adlı kitabıyla birlikte, İngilterenin ulusal borçlarının ödenmesi için William Pittin yeniden bir itfa fonu oluşturmasında etkili olmuştur. Sınking Fund ismiyle anılan bu fon projesi başarısızlığa uğramakla birlikte modern amortisman sandıklarının (Fonlarının) öncüsü sayılmaktadır.
