Sekiz yaşını bitirip, dokuz yaşına bastıktan birkaç gün veya ay, yâhut seneler sonra, sıhhatlibir kızın veya âdet zamânı son dakikasından îtibâren tam temizlik (on beş gün) geçmiş olankadının önünden çıkan ve Hanefî mezhebine göre, en az üç gün (ye tmiş iki saat) devâm edenkan; hayız ve aybaşı kanı. (Bkz. Hayz)Bir kız, sahîh kan ve sahîh temizlik gördükten sonra istimrar ederse (kan devâm ederse), bukız âdeti belli olan kadın olur. Meselâ beş gün kan görse, sonra kırk gün temiz olsa, istimrârbaşından beş gün hayz, sonra kırk gün temiz kabûl dilir. Kan ke silinceye kadar böyle devâmeder. (İbn-i Âbidîn)
